Fees and Appointments
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends a fee of $246 for a 50-minute psychology consultation. However to make our services more accessible for individuals requiring psychological services, we have reduced our consultation fee to $170 with a Clinical Psychologist. Fees are payable on the day of consultation. Payment methods include cash, credit card and EFTPOS.
All appointments are of 50 minutes duration. Your initial appointment will include a comprehensive assessment which will allow us to assess your individual needs. You do not need a referral unless you are coming under the Medicare scheme.
All Psychologists at Dr Crawford & Associates are registered providers with Medicare. The Medicare scheme allows treatment for certain problems to be covered by Medicare rebates. Please visit your GP to determine if you meet the criteria to be eligible for a referral under this scheme. If you are referred by your GP under the Medicare scheme, your GP will need to write a written referral to Dr Crawford & Associates and complete a comprehensive Mental Health Care Plan for you. Under this plan you are eligible for a $124.50 rebate from Medicare per session for up to 10 sessions per year. This reduces your consultation cost to $45.50. Private Health Funds
Many private health funds offer rebates for psychological services. Dr Crawford & Associates is registered as a health care provider with most of the major health funds so check with your private fund to see if they cover psychological services.
The client is responsible for ensuring that they attend their scheduled appointment at the allocated time. Dr Crawford & Associates offer appointment reminder calls for clients the day prior to the scheduled appointment as a courtesy; however it is the client’s responsibility to arrive on time for their appointment.
Consistent with the APS Guidelines, clients will be charged a consultation fee for missed appointments or appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice. No rebate is eligible from Medicare for missed appointment fees.
